GETTING THE GIG...and looking like it isn't your first (with Joe Coyle)
Tuesdays, September 9 - October 28, 2008
6:00 - 9:30 p.m. (8 weeks)

An intensive on-camera workshop to prepare the actor for working on a film or television set.  In addition to shooting scenes from original scripts, students will also learn industry ettiquette and terminology such as 'on the day', 'golden time', and 'magic hour'; how a scene is shot; how to complete industry paperwork; and a who's who on the set.  A film or television set is a world unlike any other and Joe Coyle has been there as an extra, stand-in, principal performer, writer, director, and producer.  At the end of this workshop you will know what to expect so you won't have to hear on your first day on the set, "What are you, new?" (click on class title for more information)

This class is limited to 12 participants.

 Welcome to Donna Belajac Casting

A message to producers who crave satisfying casting.

Wouldn't it be great if sending out for talent were as simple as ordering in lunch from your favorite pub? You get just what you want at the exact price posted on the bill of fare. Well, consider us your casting cafe of choice because that is precisely what Donna Belajac casting delivers. Here's how:

We whet your appetite with seasoned expertise.

After 27 years in the business, we offer both a wealth of talent and the benefits of lessons learned. We have casting down to a virtual science, having provided principals and extras for dozens of feature length films and talent for thousands of commercials, TV programs and industrials. A recent sampler: TV spots for Haggar Slacks, GE, Sprite and UPMC; principal casting for 8 episodes of the Spike TV series, "The Kill Point," the "Smith" network pilot; and the feature films, "Mysteries of Pittsburgh," "R.L. Stine Presents: The Haunting Hours," and "Smart People."

We shop in both local and surrounding markets for every project.

Whether you have a taste for "types" or prefer "real people," we produce the most tempting union and non-union talent by casting a wider net than our competitors. For starters, we always call talent from both major Pittsburgh agencies. We also audition talent who are on file with us but do not work with agents. And we are the only casting resource in the city that reaches beyond local borders for talent not repped by Pittsburgh agents. Choice markets include Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Detroit, Richmond, and Washington, D.C.

We cook by the book.

We consider it our responsibility to book talent correctly, complying with SAG and AFTRA terms and conditions or, on non-union projects, instructions from producers. We birddog the details from soup to nuts, settling specifics before the audition to prevent any discomfort down the road.

We present only the cream of the crop.

We'd rather fill the bill than fill a room. In fact, we typically handpick prime candidates from those submitted by agents and serve up only the ones who can meet expectations in every respect. However, we can fill your plate with numerous offerings if that better suits your taste.

We ensure no surprises when you pay the tab.

As a casting company, we work to please your palate and no one else's which includes keeping your interests top of mind when dealing with agents who advocate for the talent. Our proven recipe for smooth transactions is to firm up financial details and relay them to all parties before casting begins.

Give us a call the next time you crave some exquisite casting. We'd love to show you what we can bring to the table.
