If you are interested in this ‘acting thing’ but want to learn alongside other kids who just love to become someone else, this is the class for you! What could be more fun than letting your imagination run wild and creative expression run free? Through improvisation in a no-risk environment, you’ll learn to use what comes naturally and may even discover a bold new you along the way. This class also helps to develop the concentration skills you need to perform with confidence in front of an audience.
METHODS: A specific program of exercises, group games and improvisation, working with a partner and alone in front of the group.
AREAS OF EMPHASIS: Concentration, imagination, observation, game playing and improvisation.
EVALUATION: Students who take both terms during the school year will receive a written evaluation from the instructor at the end of the spring term.
TESTIMONIALS FROM PARENTS
"Jill fascinates children in a way that no other teacher has. Not only does her coaching help with their confidence, but it also boosts their intellectual abilities, enhances their communication skills, and it can turn the act of studying for school an art instead of a battle! The things that my children have learned from Jill will last a lifetime and lead them down a path of success, no matter what road that might be! If you would like your child to get an acting experience that doesn't cost an arm and a leg and gives your child the attention that you know they deserve, this is the place to go!" - Alissa Kline
"My daughter Olivia (age 8) has been taking the Act Freely classes with Jill Wadsworth for two semesters. It has been such a positive experience and she has learned not only acting strategies but also general speaking skills (she was one of two children chosen to compete in her 2nd grade speech meet!). Jill is encouraging and empowering for the students no matter what their age and she gives them great ownership of everything they are working on and presenting. Olivia has made many friends in the class and is always excited to go there on Saturday morning. Olivia will continue to take the classes because they are FUN and also give her good experience to pursue her goal of becoming a real actress!" - Greta English
"My daughter Julia is about to begin her third year of acting with Donna Belajac's Young Actor's Studio. She loves the class and has gained much confidence through it. Jill Wadsworth is an excellent acting teacher and Julia looks forward to going to it every week. I highly recommend "Act Freely!" - Sueanne Zoratto
